In the early years of this century, China had a staggering growth rate, and this was an internationalisation opportunity too interesting not to be seized upon by whoever had their sights set overseas.
The Zobele cousins decided to go for it, identifying a possible local partner that would act as an intermediary between their area of interest and the Chinese government, supporting the company in its relations with local authorities to set up the Chinese company and build the plant.
Zobele’s Chinese adventure began in 2001 with the opening of a plant in Shenzhen for the production of electric heating devices and electric and electronic components. Many of these are still produced in the Chinese plant, finished in other plants of the Group or sold directly to the main clients, be they in Europe, the United States or in Asia.
Today, the Chinese plant has over 2,000 employees on a surface area of over 30,000 sq.m.
